My Birthday 2008

My birthday this year falls on a Saturday, because 25th April is ANZAC day, we had a long weekend to celebrate the occasion. On the night of ANZAC day, the girls came for a chat bringing my birthday cake. While waiting for the clock to strike 12, we opened a bottle of wine and had some cheese and crackers. The first person who greeted me was Gillian who called from HK half an hour before the actual day, not aware of the daylight savings adjustment early this month.

The girls bought me cake from Brunetti. It was a really yummy cake called Nocciolato - Vanilla chocolate chip sponge with one layer of nutella, fresh cream, almonds and hazelnut.

On the day itself, I went to pick up my presents from the post office. The whole week feels like Christmas Week as I kept receiving cards and gifts almost everyday for a week. I feel so blessed and loved this year. I also went for a haircut after that.

At night, we had steak at The Grill Room on Quees Rd, St Kilda Rd Tower. I initially chose the Squires Loft Steakhouse near South Yarra station but because I made the reservation late, there was not enough space for 7 people on Sat night. Next time I will surely try that out since William claimed the steak was better at Steakhouse. I had Rib Eye on the Bone that was not too bad.
