Phoenix Park Library

Since moving to Malvern East last June, I have not been actively participating in activities hosted by the City of Stonnington nor have I fully utilized any services provided to us residents. (Well, not that I will). Last night, I decided to check out online our local library as I ran out of toilet/train material after finishing the book "Schindler's List" by Thomas Keneally. I was very determined to finish this book as I remember falling asleep 15 minutes into the movie when it first released.

To my first surprise, there are 4 Stonnington libraries available to us. To my second surprise, there is already 1 within 3 minutes walking distance from my place. Exact location is 20-40 Rob Roy Avenue. Walk along Waverley Road towards Holmesglen Fitness First, it's the first right turn past Chadstone Road.

Today after 2 hours of heavy workout, I was excited to check out this community center. On arrival, I immediately fell in love with this place. One good thing it is not close to the main road. I was pretty impressed with the children playground as well as the new and modern building itself. Had I known about this place earlier, I would have brought my two nieces to the playground and I'm sure they will love it too.

The library is behind the community center and the cafe. It has a fairly good collection of teenage/adult fictions, biographies, non-fictions, magazines, DVDs and CDs. The books are well-maintained and they have a lot of children's books too. Each person can borrow up to 50 items.
